Citizens! hießen vorher Official Secrets Act. Zumindest im Kern ist es aber die selbe Band. Aber manchmal muss man sich eben neu erfinden, um bei Kitsuné durchzustarten.
Citizens! sind also eine Band, die sich neu erfunden hat. Weil Bands in England sehr schnell ein Schild umgehängt bekommen, auf dem steht: "Haben es einmal versucht. Ist nichts geworden. Bye bye." Weg vom eher experimentellen Londoner Plattenlabel One Little Indian - bei dem einst die Karriere von Björk begonnen hatte, hin zum französischen Hipster-Indiedance-Label Kitsune. Ja, und dort passen Official Serets Act, pardon, Citizens! tatsächlich auch besser hin, samt ihrer Überdrübersingle "True Romance".
Citizens! sind Fans von David Bowie, Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, Sparks, Marc Bolan, Suede. Das Debutalbum der Citizens! erscheint im Frühjahr, ist aber noch absolut unter Verschluss, und wir wissen nur soviel: Alex Kapranos von Franz Ferdinand hat es produziert. Der Sänger und Gitarrist von Großbritanniens wohl bester Indierockband des letzten Jahrzehnts im Produzentensessel, wenn da kein neues "Take Me Out" für das Jahr 2012 herauskommt, ganz ohne "next big thing Getue".
Unbedingt schnell Tickets sichern um im Flex vorbeischauen! Prädikat: besonders sehenswert!
